DID YOU KNOW?

ONE MAST, TWO HOISTS

How the MAX CLIMBER 2000 Personnel Hoist and the MAX CLIMBER 2500 Transport Platform/Material Hoist cover your full vertical-access range on a single common mast.

If you rent out rack & pinion hoists, you already know the quiet tax of a mixed fleet: every model you carry brings its own mast sections, its own ties, its own spare-parts bin, and its own learning curve for the crews who install it. BETA MAX’s MC2000PMB V and MC2500TP/M MV remove that tax. Two purpose-built machines, one common mast.

Two jobs, cleanly divided

The two hoists aren’t redundant—they’re complementary. The MC2000PMB V is a dedicated personnel hoist: it moves people and their tools at high speeds. The MC2500TP/M MV is versatile, running as either a transport platform or a material hoist at a higher weight capacity. Between them you cover crew transport, material lifts, and mixed loads without a gap.

Built to survive the rental cycle

Both machines are fully galvanized throughout so they hold up through years of transport, weather and reassembly instead of rusting out between jobs. Both hoists run on Variable Frequency Drives, making every start and stop a controlled ramp rather than a jolt. Less shock through the drive train and mast means measurably lower wear and tear, which for a rental fleet is the difference between a unit that keeps earning and a unit that keeps coming back for service.

What the VFD actually buys you

The Variable Frequency Drive is more than a smoother ride. The 3-second ramp-up and 3 programmable speeds protect the load, which matters for fragile materials, while extending the life of the motor and brake, which matters just as much to an owner. On the control side you get digital diagnostics for quicker, simpler troubleshooting on a multi-lingual display, programmable floor stops and door locks, and a return-to-ground feature that eliminates unnecessary stops and improves efficiency.

Corrosion protection built for a long service life in the yard and on site.

Soft start & stop reduces shock loading, less wear and tear over the fleet’s life.

MC2000PMB V: The personnel specialist

The MC2000PMB V carries 2,000 lbs (up to 7 passengers) at speeds up to 130 feet per minute, reaching 500 ft with a cable trolley. Its 8′ × 8′ base footprint is the smallest in the class, which makes it the answer on tight urban sites where there’s no room to sprawl. It’s self-erecting (build as you go), and a fold-out installation platform gives crews easier access when tying into the structure. It doesn’t need a concrete building to climb, either; it also attaches to scaffolding or wood-frame structures.

Power: 3Φ 208V, 45A—requires 100 amp service (fuse disconnect) within 20 ft of the installed hoist location.
Applicable Standards: CAL/OSHA and ANSI A10.4, and it meets New York metropolitan building city code.

MC2500TP/M MV: The dual-purpose workhorse

The MC2500TP/M MV earns its keep twice. In material mode it lifts 2,500 lbs (no riders) at 80 ft/min; switched to transport-platform mode it carries 6 people plus an additional 1,300 lbs at 40 ft/min. One machine covering two jobs on site.

The basket measures  7.3’x 4.6′, and the whole unit needs only about 8.8′ x 8.6′ of ground to set up—small enough for confined sites.

Power: 3Φ 208V, 45A (100A supply service to the base of the unit recommended).
Applicable standards: ANSI/ASSP A10.5 and ANSI/SAIA A92.10.

All BETA MAX hoist systems meet or exceed ANSI & OSHA specifications. Information is intended to be informative only and is subject to change; renderings may vary from the actual hoists.

MastCommon mast — one inventory for both

The common-mast advatange

Here’s where it pays off for a rental operation. Because both hoists climb the same mast, stocking both isn’t two systems, it’s one. That means:

  • Same install hardware

Crews tie in once and know the drill for both machines.

  • One parts inventory

Mast sections, ties and hardware cross both units, no separate SKUs.

  • No fleet confusion

Stop guessing which manufacturer’s parts fit which tower.

If your current fleet mixes hoists from several manufacturers, the yard math gets complicated fast: which mast fits which base, which tie belongs to which tower, which spare is even in stock. Standardizing on the BETA MAX common mast collapses all of that into a single, predictable system. Easier to install, easier to service, easier to rent out with confidence.

Who's renting these

Both machines see steady demand across scaffolding, masonry, restoration and renovation, and glazing work—all trades that move crews and material up the same face of a building, day after day.
